This round we bring to you the mixtape, On The Road.
The feeling of taking off on an adventure, whether it be alone or with company, is something we all love to experience. Join us as on our road trip through music and emotion, as we constantly scan through the tuner to search for those songs that we enjoy.
So what do you feel when you set off on that adventure? Is it the joy that you and your friends are in the same car together? Is it the frustration of staying awake? Is it the relaxing feeling of the breeze blowing against your hair? Is it the satisfaction knowing that your adventure will be as long as you want it to be? Is it the excitement of going as fast as you can?
Join us and together we can experience that adventure together!

"An adventure has to be lively, something that has to be memorable, otherwise what would be the point of the journey, if there's nothing to look back on?"

"I love this song and every time I hear it, I have thoughts of a road trip and the almost bittersweet feeling of leaving behind the place you call home, a call to adventure if you will."

"On the road refers to driving back and forth to destination to destination. Often times, I usually drive back and forth destinations around 30 minutes to an hour every weekend and 2 hours or more on special occasions.
Eurobeat, Trance, and other hardcore beats of music keep myself awake for a long time. In long drives where caffeine, rest areas, and long chat with friends are not available, there has to be some way to keep myself awake at long drives.
The genres mentioned has been a trend influenced to me at a much younger age before the asian culture began to embrace it in popularity in the late 90's and early 2000s. Of course, I decided to dwell on these genres with the rise of Arcade Music Games at the time. Eurobeat carried itself in the form of the Japanese dance Para Para (a dance that some people embracing the culture dance in the car) as well as underground racing, influencing games like ParaParaParadise and Initial D. This gives the adventurous mentality of street racer and dance, but not to the limit of breaking the law. Burning Night, despite being a much later track of the genre, is no exception. Trance has played in remixes of music from Japan, especially Ayumi Hamasaki and underground racing culture, influencing Maximum Tune. The melodic yet energetic tune keeps me focused and wide awake on the road. Of course, the hardcore beats like Valkyrie Dimension, is a good way to keep myself away from road rage. Yes, there are times where traffic and bad drivers create anger, but hardcore beats is a way to mindfully release that anger without going crazy and keep my mind off of the mishaps most of the time."

"The destination is not important, it's the journey that counts." A little cliche but an important phrase about life that I first heard when I was a kid. How have you been traveling on your journey? Are you wandering through suffocating darkness or dashing forward towards the bright future? Are you sitting back or discovering wonderful things?"

"I have always thought of the great, cross-country road trip as a rite of passage for anybody growing up. With nothing but a dusty back pack and the seemingly endless road stretching out before you. Accompanied by nothing more than a sense of adventure and the euphoric catharsis of virtually limitless possibility. Some people fail to heed this call or feel that it is beyond their reach. But when you really think about it, at the tip of the hat, you can simply pack up your life and basically go wheresoever the wind takes you. We sometimes fail to realize how amazingly free we truly are....
And so, as we are all on this journey, still searching for a destination. A fitting road anthem to accompany weary travelers, is Quruli's "Highway". It is comforting to know that not knowing exactly where we are going, is simply part-and-parcel of the human condition. And that sometimes getting lost, is the only way to be found..."

"The song currently being played in constant rotation, 2NE1's "I am the Best", reminds me about being on the road with company. Every time I'm with friends here in Seoul traveling to another city, we always come around to singing this song. With the catchy chorus line, "Naega jeil jal naga" (내가 제일 잘 나가), a song that defines attitude, and a dance-able beat, the song is a favorite of ours. And it's not just my circle of friends it's restricted to. Everyone in Korea seems to be in-tune with the song, as subways stations, convenience stores, and clubs play this song as it were on speed dial.
Japanese R&B singer, DOUBLE, and her song "Driving All Night", reminds me of journey. Unlike 2NE1's song above, this song reminds me of driving at night alone to clear my thoughts. Some people find their favorite quiet place. Others use their car to drive... anywhere. Sometimes, we need a way to find ourselves in this crazy world and driving to any destination releases our mind. DOUBLE does just that in the video as well, driving on the high speed freeways with no worries. With a CD player, a car, and a full tank of gas, it may be the perfect solution to relieving stress.
Up-and-coming R&B act, One Way, doesn't disappoint with their slow melody, "Rainy Days". Whenever I'm traveling alone on a bus, especially on a rainy day, this song comes to the back of my mind. The song feels so tranquil, so relaxing, yet shows a feeling of hope. The trio of Peter, Young Sky, and Chance put my mind at ease with their singing, as listening to them makes the time go by faster. A four hour KTX speed train trip from Seoul to Busan will feel like 30 minutes when "Rainy Days" is on my iPod. Whether the weather is sunny, rainy, cloudy, purple, or Armageddon is about to hit, I'll always listen to it."

"Departing to that long, winding road is the first step of the adventure. What makes the better adventure? Is it with or without friends? Is it with or without aim? Is it with or without finish? My own answer is: the best adventures are the ones where your heart and the music take you."
