Vocaloid Music Picks: February 22nd, 2011
So what is Vocaloid? It is a singing synthesizer co-created in 2004 by Yamaha and Pompeu Fabra University (in Spain) used to create songs. Anyone with the Vocaloid program and a mic can put in their favorite lyrics and melodies. Originating in Japan, the software has exploded in popularity since. Many fans, aspring singers, and even professional singers (such as Supercell) have taken to the program to create their own songs. The Vocaloid scene has spawned their own subgenre in Japanese music and has created a legion of fans, especially within the anime and convention crowd.
Welcome to the Vocaloid Picks. Similar to the GTG Mixtape, where the GTG staff recommends songs, the Vocaloid Picks are recommended by Hai. In every installment, she will be presenting her top 10 picks for users to check out.
If you're a fan of music, check out both Vocaloid and our Vocaloid Picks.
