LE FIGARO – Expect sharp progress in growth this year. On what basis?
FRANÇOIS VILLEROY DE GALHAU – Not yet in the final stages, the French economy is accelerating on its way out of the crisis. With services resuming in May and especially in June – primarily the hotel and catering industry – we can see it now. After the fall of 2020, French growth is expected to reach 5.75% by 2021, well above the European average of 4.6% and better than Germany and Italy. From the beginning of 2022, activity should return to its pre-crisis level slightly earlier than expected. Home consumption and business investment, thanks to the return of their confidence, are the two drivers of this renaissance.
What are your predictions about the evolution of home storage?
The purchasing power of homes during the crisis was generally maintained by public support mechanisms, which resulted in these strong additional “cow savings”.
