There were a limited number of fans in Atlanta, Ga., Monday evening because of the Coronavirus Pandemic, but that didn’t seem to stop Los Angeles Lakers Superstar Lebron James from a heated argument with some on the sidelines.
Hecklers appeared to be disrupting James in the fourth quarter of the Lakers-Atlanta Hawks competition, which resulted in referees shutting down the game and safety, according to a video of the incident posted on Twitter.
The fans in question allegedly included two women escorted from the State Farm Arena. One of them gave the middle finger on the way out, according to The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner.
James seemed to shake off the incident, scoring 21 points when the Lakers defeated the Hawks 107-99.
“At the end of the day, I’m glad the fans are back in the building,” said James after the game. “I miss this interaction … we as players need this interaction.”
Last week, a Cleveland Cavaliers manager celebrated a late third quarter James miss during a game between the Lakers and Cavs. James would explode in the 4th quarter leading his team to a 115-108 win in the competition.
After the game, he noted that the unidentified person was “a little too excited” last week.
