President Donald Trump gathers thousands in Muskegon as elections approach

MUSKEGON, MI – President Trump told thousands of Muskegon supporters on Saturday that his re-election would bring the country an economic boost and that the victory of his opponent, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, would bring a downturn.

“If you vote for me, prosperity will increase. Next year is going to be one of the greatest years in the nation’s history, ”he told thousands who turned up for a speech that lasted over 90 minutes.

It was a well-known mantra for Trump and one that cheered the crowd on.

Trump’s visit to Muskegon County Airport was a busy week in Michigan for campaign stops. The Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden spoke in Southfield on Friday and Vice President Mike Pence came to Grand Rapids On Wednesday.

For next week the Trump campaign has lIvanka Trump spoke in Grand Rapids on Monday and Eric Trump in Lansing on Tuesday. They are the President’s children.

As with the 2016 election, Michigan is becoming a key state for both candidates.

An exuberant crowd, many of them wearing MAGA hats or other Trump campaign merchandise, registered for the rally. Despite being billed as a law enforcement support speech, Trump only spoke briefly about the police.

Tour buses transported people from parking lots a few kilometers from the airport to the rally site. Mask use was mixed among the crowd, although free masks and hand sanitizer were distributed at the entrance.

Trump used the rally to attack Biden, but also to meet Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

He referred to the alleged kidnapping against her, in which more than 14 people have now been charged.
