Trump-driven email criticizes McConnell, including query graphics

WASHINGTON – House Republicans received an email Monday from a White House adviser showing a graphic criticizing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, sent at the request of President Donald Trump.

The email was from Molly A. Michael, Special Assistant to the President and Coordinator of the Oval Office, according to two House Republicans who had received the email.

A graphic was attached to the email received from NBC News showing a timetable for McConnell’s poll results since May against his 2020 Democratic challenger Amy McGrath. It has been suggested that McConnell was re-elected only because of Trump.

It said: “Unfortunately, Mitch forgot. He was the first off the ship!”

The email suggested that Trump is good for the Republican Party and led to the re-election of GOP members. This is because Republicans in Congress are under pressure to defend the president and question the election results.

The email was sent to a meeting between the President and the Republicans of the House Monday about “fight” in support of unsubstantiated allegations of election fraud.

McConnell recognized Joe Biden’s election victory and named him President-Elect last Tuesday after the electoral college confirmed his victory.

Comments from McConnell’s office and the White House were not immediately returned.
