Rafael dos Anjos thrived in his return to lightweight on Saturday when he hit Paul Fields Headlining at UFC Fight Night 182.
Dos Anjos (31-13 MMA, 19-11 UFC), a former defending champion of 155 pounds, returned to the division where he once held gold when he fielded the short-term replacement (17-6 MMA, 9-6 UFC ) for defeating the split decision in the main event fight that took place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Pressurizing RDA is the best RDA (rearfoot RDA sucks, although it’s not a great comparison).

RDA with the first takedown of the fight. I expected that from the Brazilian. # UFCVegas14

Bisping goes on and on about how sharp Fields looks when Paul eats 5 punches and is knocked down. # UFCVegas14

Very hard-fought battle so far! RDA looks strong in the argument and Paul quick in releasing his strikes. # UFCVegas14

Fun rd 1. Fields is looking keenly for Zero Camp, but RDA makes it clear. And we still have 4! # UFCVegas14

The fight was in the middle of the cage for only a few seconds, but Felder immediately began to do better. Seems like he needs to keep it there.

Serious question: when was the last time you had a disappointing main light event in the UFC?
– Aaron Bronsteter (@aaronbronsteter) November 15, 2020
Paul is not ready to retire, he looks great

Felder lost so far 0-2, but still looked sharp and dangerous. Great fight from both men so far.

RDA beats its own double leg attempts because its head is on the wrong side.
That’s all.

Rafael dos Anjos rose through three rounds in the between 30 and 27 # UFCVegas14 Main event.
I think a lot of people have forgotten how good RDA was at lightweight. He’s a monster. # UFCVegas14

RDA finds more success with its takedowns with each round. Mix his strikes and entries well too. Felder defends well but needs a finish.
– Kenny Florian (@kennyflorian) November 15, 2020
Rafael dos Anjos was just the second fighter in history to survive 7 HOURS of the entire UFC cage time. He joins Frankie Edgar. # UFCVegas14

Felder needs a destination here, but damn it if I don’t think he’s just the guy looking for you! Hard work against a legend! # UFCVegas14 @ufc

3-1 RDA for me in the round. 5. Respect for these two headliners.
– Jon Anik (onJon_Anik) November 15, 2020
This fight is so damn good. And Felder is one of the toughest people alive.
– Brett Okamoto (@bokamotoESPN) November 15, 2020
Damn fields is tough. He shoots solidly and doesn’t even flinch. His stroke is that good too. Everything looks like it could take someone’s head off.
– David Michaud (@ bulldawg_170) November 15, 2020
Damn what a fight RDA and fields threw!
– Douglas Lima (@PhenomLima) November 15, 2020
Masterful performance in UFC appearance No. 30 for the future Hall of Famer @RdosAnjosMMA. Clean win to report back to the division he once owned. Serious performance, cardio, speed and skill. Boa Noite! ππΌπ§π·

Great main event. Proud of my colleague and friend @felderpaul for the ascent and the hard fight from bell to bell. Congratulations on the W. @RdosAnjosMMA. Both are great ambassadors for sport and great men in life. # UFCVegas14

Great fight, always bittersweet when you have two really good guys and great fighters, but I loved RDA’s reign as champion and wouldn’t mind seeing him again. Feel like Felder deserves a rematch when that happens too. # UFCVegas14
